The Agency for Healthcare Administration
was statutorily created by Chapter 20, Florida Statues as the chief health policy and planning entity for the state. The agency is primarily responsible for the state’s estimated $22.9 billion Medicaid program that will serve a projected 3.48 million Floridians in SFY 2013-14, the licensure of the state’s 45,000 health care facilities and the sharing of health care data through the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis.
This year the agency is working to continue to reduce the number of uninsured across the state, to enhance its ability to target fraudulent providers, to reduce unnecessary regulation, and to reduce administrative costs in order to ensure that dollars go to server patients and more.
